Ripple’s work with key African financial platforms is a significant part of RLUSD’s implementation. Chipper Cash, a popular app for sending money across borders, utilizes RLUSD to make it easier and more affordable for its users to send money.
VALR, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Africa, allows users to trade RLUSD, making it easier for both institutional and retail clients to buy and sell. Yellow Card, a leading payment processor, utilizes RLUSD to establish a secure transaction infrastructure, particularly for managing financial transactions. These relationships make RLUSD a reliable digital currency that bridges the gap between traditional finance and blockchain technology.
Making Cross-Border Payments Better
The high cost of sending money across countries and the fact that currencies fluctuate frequently make Africa a compelling case for the use of stablecoins. RLUSD is part of Ripple Payments’ global remittance network, which enables payments to settle almost instantly.

These programs utilize smart contracts to automatically transfer funds when satellite data indicates drought or severe weather, providing immediate assistance to disadvantaged individuals.
