Chelsea are in a three way battle with Bayern Munich and Juventus to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan according to reports.
The Blues passed on the opportunity to sign Maignan in the summer, after they refused to get near AC Milan’s valuation.
Supporters were disappointed a new keeper wasn’t signed, with the club opting to stick with Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen.
There have been reports Chelsea could look to go back in for Maignan in January, but whether they do or not remains unclear.
The France international will have six months left on his contract when the transfer window opens, making him an attractive proposition.

If Chelsea don’t revisit the deal, then other clubs will more than likely jump at the chance, and journalist Ekrem Konur has provided an update.
He took to X.com and said:
“Juventus are eyeing Mike Maignan, whose contract with Milan expires in 2026!
“Talks for an extension have stalled, making a free exit more likely.
“Bayern and Chelsea could pose serious competition.”
Maignan has been in good form this season and has kept five clean sheets in seven appearances in all competitions, with AC Milan currently third in Serie A just two points behind leaders Napoli.
Chelsea also have youngster Mike Penders on their books, who’s currently on loan at sister club Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

The 20-year-old is reportedly a big reason as to why Chelsea didn’t sign a keeper in the summer, with the Blues said to believe he’s a special talent.
Penders has impressed at Strasbourg, and it will be interesting to see how he develops, but it’s a huge call to make on whether he’s ready to be number one at Chelsea next season, and he would certainly benefit from another season on loan.
