A heartfelt short film exploring the foster care system is set to make its UK debut.
Backseat, produced by Bolton-born filmmaker Claud Cunningham, will premiere at this year’s Bolton Film Festival.
The film tells the story of Tyler, a 14-year-old foster child who forms a profound bond with his social care worker, Sadie, during car journeys between placements.

Unbeknownst to Tyler, Sadie’s next piece of news will change the course of their relationship.
Ms Cunningham said: “I am so excited to be premiering Backseat in Bolton.
“Being selected for a festival is always a great honour, but as a Bolton lass born and bred it feels extra special.
“I can’t wait.”
Written by Courtney May Sophia, the film stars Victoria Ekonaye (Coronation Street, Baldur’s Gate III, The Royals) and Lewin Lloyd (His Dark Materials, Pinocchio, The Aeronauts).
It is directed by Anne-Sofie Lindgaard, an award-winning filmmaker and MA student in directing fiction at the National Film and Television School (NFTS).
Ms Lindgaard was recently nominated for the Young Director’s Award at Cannes.
Ms Cunningham, who is studying for an MFA in producing (film and TV) at the NFTS, grew up in Bolton and attended Thornleigh Sixth Form College.
