A large online shooter opens for early players, giving first access to its persistent world and a chance to influence game development.
Reaper Actual, a new large-scale online shooter from Distinct Possibility Studios, opened its Foundation Alpha Series 1 on October 6, giving early players access to the persistent world of Marova and a chance to shape gameplay through developer-led playtests.
The program allows participants to test mechanics, explore evolving maps, and provide feedback as the studio fine-tunes the game ahead of a planned 2026 Early Access release.
Set on the fictional island of Marova, Reaper Actual blends large-scale first-person combat with MMO-style progression. Hundreds of players compete for territory against both rival participants and five AI-controlled factions, in a persistent world that evolves even when they’re offline.
Early Access and Exclusive Items
Foundation Bundles offer early access to the Alpha and include a range of in-game items. Depending on the bundle, players can receive up to four Reapers, the game’s playable characters, which will not be available again after Series 1 sells out. Each bundle also includes at least one base and Havoc, a starter-tier operator skin.
All bundles come with a Bunker Base at one of seven randomized locations, while the higher-tier Stygian Oath Bundle features a Warehouse Base near KAM airport, selected from four possible sites. Bundle owners can join developer-led playtests and provide feedback as the game evolves.
Participants also gain access to private Discord channels to communicate with the development team and other early players. As Reaper Actual progresses through Alpha and Beta phases, Foundation players will be among the first to explore new maps, scenarios, and game mechanics.
Alpha Access and Player Feedback
Quantities are limited across all tiers. The first wave of Alpha access launched October 6, with additional waves planned to help balance server testing.
Players who purchase directly through the game’s marketplace receive tradable items, including Reapers, bases, and cosmetic upgrades.
These items can be bought, sold, or traded through a Web3-powered marketplace built on Etherlink, which operates separately and does not affect gameplay balance.
Additional waves are expected as the studio prepares for the broader Early Access launch in 2026.
Why This Matters
The Foundation Alpha gives players a first look at Reaper Actual’s persistent battlefield and a rare chance to influence development before full release. It also highlights the growing integration of Web3 elements in mainstream gaming, allowing tradable in-game assets without impacting gameplay.
