No man is an island, as the cliché goes. That’s why one creates connections and networks, composed of family and friends, to make living meaningful and bearable.
Sometimes, a person also needs a life coach like Pia Acevedo to provide new perspectives about different aspects of life and further find clarity.
She has recently launched the book Moment to Moment and asked celebrity friends to grace the event and read passages from it. The reader should consider it as “a 21-day journey to clarity, compassion and living with intention” and a companion, as the author describes on the cover and inside pages.
“Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” second placer Ralph de Leon and Viva Artists Agency actress Cristine Reyes showed their support to Pia and talked about personal beliefs in separate brief group interviews.
“For me, it’s hard to go through life alone without a lot of guidance, especially for a lot of people who have no support system or no one to turn to with regard to their problems,” said Ralph.
“Coach Pia is gonna be there, willing to guide you. Someone like her can give you advice not only about work, about life, about friends, about family, kung anumang problema yan, siya ang bahala sa inyo,” added he. “It’s good to have someone like that whom you can talk to and share your problems with, to actually give you advice that you can use and apply every day.”
Cristine was also on the same page with the young Kapamilya actor about the value of having a life coach.
“It’s super crucial to have a life coach because nowadays, we live in a fast-paced (way),” said she, who met coach Pia through common friends. “We have to set time for ourselves, sometimes, we need to pause.”
It’s a must, especially with the noise and things on social media and digital platforms.
For her, a life coach is a guide, who helps one to further know oneself, one’s journey and relationships with other people, as one could glean from Cristine’s answers.
According to Cristine, a person needs guidance or a helping hand in every stage of life, particularly if he or she juggles varied roles. Aside from being an actress, she is also a mom.
Cristine acknowledged the help a life coach provides in her personal and professional life.
“Very, very happy. I’m super happy and it’s different,” said she about the status of her heart, “when you know you’re with the right person.”
As for how he navigates life, Ralph, a friend of one of Pia’s sons, had this to say: “I’ve learned very recently that it’s mahirap (challenging) to focus much on the long term. Like what coach and Tita Pia says in the book, it’s really you have to go day by day, moment to moment. You don’t know when everything you have will suddenly disappear without you even realizing it. So for as long as you are in the present, you live in the moment, I feel like you’re really gonna be able to cherish, you know, what goes into your daily life and the amount of blessings that you receive.”
“I have. (It’s) moment to moment. Based on my experience, the moment to moment, we sometimes neglect the simple things in life,” said she about her mantra and inspirational statement. “It’s important to cherish every moment that you have and with you guys right now. This is actually a moment. Sometimes, we neglect those things.”
Asked about the “PBB: Collab Edition 2.0,” which will feature a new set of ABS and GMA housemates, Ralph said, “It’s really exciting, and it’s a different experience being inside the house. Now, there’s ‘Collab’ again. I’m so happy na tuloy, tuloy pa rin siya.”
For someone who has been there and done that, Ralph shared his advice to the new housemates, “Magpakatotoo (be real). Yun naman ang bilin sa amin ni Kuya na lalabas at lalabas din yung personality mo, who you really are inside the house, and you can’t hide it, so you might as well show who you really are.”
Looking back on his “PBB” stint, he also attributed his success in living inside “Bahay ni Kuya” and dealing with various tasks to praying.
“You can’t forget about that kasi ang dami mo talagang hindi mo masasabi sa ibang tao na itataas mo na lang talaga sa kanya. Next, siyempre, kailangan marunong kang makisama (you should know how to get along with others),” said he.
“You’re going to be in that house with how many other people for who knows how long? That’s why you should know how to mingle. You also have to take time for yourself sa anumang sulok sa bahay na you can just find your own space, your time to reflect, and just go back to your core, which is also important,” added he.
