Algorithmic trading specialist Quadrature Capital has reported a sharp rise in profitability, with annual profits surging ninefold to £550m, according to a report by The Times citing the firm’s latest company filings.
Turnover at the London-based hedge fund also doubled year-on-year, reflecting strong performance across its systematic trading strategies.
The firm, led by Sanjeev Setiya and Greg Skinner, distributed a £360m dividend following the record results. Setiya and Skinner are the only directors of the company, receiving a combined £23.3m in salaries over the year. Staff at the firm earned an average of £2.8m.
Quadrature’s ultimate beneficial owners are Setiya and Skinner, though its immediate parent company, QC Ventures Limited, is registered in the Cayman Islands.
Through its philanthropic arm, the Quadrature Climate Foundation, the firm remains one of the UK’s most active private funders of climate initiatives. The foundation, established six years ago, has committed over $1bn to projects supporting emissions reduction, carbon removal, and climate resilience.
In 2024, the foundation distributed £204.7m in grants, with major awards going to the Grantham Foundation (£21.6m), the European Climate Foundation (£20.3m), and the Growald Family Fund (£19.6m).
