LAHORE: The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has introduced an online learning platform called Trade Lab, aimed at providing training and resources for individuals and businesses involved in cross-border trade.
The platform has been developed in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) and with financial support from the Centre for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
According to PSW, the initiative is designed to help entrepreneurs, startups, and traders better understand international trade procedures, compliance requirements, and market dynamics.
Trade Lab offers an initial set of nine online courses covering areas such as Customs Tariff Essentials, Exporting Goods from Pakistan, Legal Framework of Trade, and Market Analysis and Strategy. The platform is open to all users and aims to build skills that support easier, faster, and more compliant trade operations.
Officials said the course content is designed to simplify regulatory processes and improve the understanding of customs procedures. PSW plans to expand the range of courses in collaboration with public sector institutions, including the Customs Academy, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and the Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development (PITAD) under the Ministry of Commerce.
The initiative is part of Pakistan’s efforts to modernize trade systems and align with commitments under the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement. The digital platform also aims to support women entrepreneurs and small businesses by improving access to trade-related knowledge and tools.
PSW officials said that, together with the existing Trade Information Portal, the new platform would help build a central digital knowledge base for the country’s trade community.
