Guilt by association is in vogue of late in all things related to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Indeed, it reminds one of the ravages performed by the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy who, in the 1950s, stormed that anyone who came near or associated with a Communist was himself or herself a Communist.
In the latest news, former Harvard President and then Professor Lawrence (“Larry”) Summers, who was previously Secretary of the Treasury, has resigned from the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences merely because he was associated with the convicted pedophile. Ditto the businessmen Leslie Wexner and Bill Gates. Across the pond, Peter Mandelson, formerly a member of the House of Lords, has resigned.
