After 10 days at the Africa Base Founders Fellowship, Ndovu, a natively successful Web2 startup, has been named the Winner of the initiative.
Ndovu emerged the winner amidst other newer and established Web3 startups, a demonstration of the practical, real life use case and solution that Ndovu has built and proven since its inception in 2022.
Ndovu’s win is a clear signal that Web3 in Africa is maturing and the need for practical use cases that solve real problems for the masses is becoming increasingly important.
According to the Founder of Ndovu, Radhika Bhachu:
“Africa’s financial markets remain fragmented, illiquid, and inefficient.
Each year, over $53 billion in remittances flow into the continent – yet much of that money never re-enters productive use.
“As the digital economy explodes, Ndovu is building the bridge for global capital to move seamlessly into and out of Africa.
We’re a regulated partner enabling the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) – like money markets – and leveraging Web3 core infrastructure for fast, transparent, and compliant settlements.”
For many years, the Web3 ecosystem has been driven by hype and hype products, most notably NFTs, memecoins, ICOs just to name a few. A lot of these past initiatives have not materialized to actual and real-life use cases.
With over 200, 000 users and with an AUM of over 37x growth since 2022, Ndovu is clearly not about hype but actual use case with actual paying users.
While many products in emerging markets are still exploring Web3 use cases, Ndovu’s rare example demonstrates how and where Web3 meets real-world impact.
“We’re just getting started — and we’re building Africa’s onchain future, one block at a time,” says Radhika.
