A primary school has been praised for its home-cooked meals and farm-to-table approach.
Hindon Primary School welcomed a visit from the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, Martin Nye, and his wife Victoria Nye, deputy lieutenant, who toured the school to learn about its focus on healthy, sustainable lunches and its links to the local farming community.
The High Sheriff said: “We greatly enjoyed our visit to the delightful Hindon Primary School, in such a beautiful rural setting.

“We were given a very warm welcome by Mr Watkins and his team, were shown round the well-equipped classrooms and the extensive grounds, and finished off with some fascinating conversations with cheerful, engaging children about their favourite meals cooked on site by Clare, and where their food came from.
“I look forward to hearing more about the ongoing success of the school in due course.”
During the visit, Mr Nye and his wife toured the school kitchen, spoke with school chef Clare, and chatted with pupils about their knowledge of farming and where their food comes from.
The visit highlighted the school’s commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients in its meals.
