Urgent recall issued for Milo snack bars due to rubber contaminationBlair JacksonNewsWireSun, 15 February 2026 6:54AM

Rubber from a machine has contaminated Milo bars, prompting an urgent recall from Nestle.

The recalled products are the Milo Snack Bars Original 210g 10 bars, and the Milo Snack Bars Dipped in boxes of 270g in 10 bars, 160g in 6 bars, and the 960g boxes.

“A contract manufacturer experienced an equipment failure in their facility, resulting in small pieces of black rubber being dislodged during production of the products,” a Nestle spokesperson said.

“Investigations indicate only a small number of products are affected, however out of an abundance of caution, Nestle is recalling specific batches to ensure consumer safety.”

The recalled bars all have best before dates of August 31, 2026, as well as specific batch numbers.

The potentially contaminated bars have been sold at the big supermarkets and independent grocers since December, in Australia and New Zealand.

“If you have purchased any of these products, please return it to the place of purchase for a full refund,” Nestle Oceania, general manager snacks Andrew Lawrey said.

“The safety of our consumers is our absolute top priority. This recall is a precautionary measure, in line with our strict product quality and safety protocols.

“As soon as we became aware of the issue, we made contact with authorities to conduct a recall and notified all relevant retailers.”

The specific batch numbers for the potentially contaminated can be found immediately below the best before date on the wrappers and boxes.

In January, Nestle pulled specific batches of its Alfamino Infant Formula (0-12 months) off shelves over concerns about contamination from vomiting and diarrhoea-inducing bacteria.

No other Alfamino batches or products in Australia or New Zealand are affected by this recall.
