Polygon is facing a temporary disruption in consensus finality due to a bug impacting both Bor and Erigon nodes, according to an incident report on its official status page.
The problem, which began early Wednesday, affected several Remote Procedure Call (RPC) services, leading to access issues for some applications running on the network. Despite this, the Polygon blockchain continues to produce blocks, though many RPC providers and validators had to roll back to the last finalized block and resynchronize.
The team explained that the bug is blocking node progress under certain configurations, but restarting affected nodes has restored functionality for many participants. “We see that a restart of nodes has fixed the issues for many validators and RPC providers,” Polygon noted.
Engineers are now working closely with infrastructure partners to accelerate debugging and restore full performance. Polygon emphasized that the incident has not impacted the blockchain’s core operations and reassured users that a full recovery is underway.
