
Police Scotland have launched an investigation after a plane crashed near Perth Airport today.
A plane has crashed into a field near a Scots airport as police launch a probe.
Emergency crews – including police, three fire engines, specialist resources and an ambulance – raced to Destiny Road in Scone, near Perth Airport, after receiving reports that a light aircraft had crashed at around 12.20pm today.
It is understood that one casualty was placed in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Photographs, seen by the Record, showed a white aircraft crashed in a muddy field with an individual standing near it.
An eyewitness, who was visiting his son from Australia, told STV News about how they saw the crash from their bedroom window and rushed out to the pilot, who managed to free himself.
He said: “He was ok and asked to borrow my phone to let the control tower know that he was ok.
“Another passerby called emergency services. Quite a day that to be fair.”
Police Scotland have since noted that no one was injured and enquiries are ongoing.
Perth Airport also said the aircraft has now been recovered after making a “precautionary landing” near the airfield.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.03pm on Monday, November 10 to an incident near Destiny Road, Scone, Perthshire.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and specialist resources to the area where one small aircraft had landed in a field.
“One casualty was in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Monday, November 10, 2025, officers were made aware of a light aircraft crash near Perth Airport.
“There were no reports of any injuries. Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesman for Perth Airport said: “We are aware that a light aircraft made a precautionary landing near Scone airfield earlier today.
“Emergency services attended the scene, and we are pleased to confirm that no injuries were reported.
“The aircraft has since been recovered, and the incident is now closed.
“We would like to thank the emergency services and all those who responded promptly and professionally.”
