Alliance Bank has earned a Malaysia Book of Records title for producing the nation’s first feature-length SME business pitch film.
The milestone is not just a trophy. It’s a statement.
Entrepreneurs — the people who keep Malaysia’s economy breathing — deserve to have their stories told on the big screen.
In 2024, the Bank’s BizSmart Challenge introduced its Accelerator Edition: a tough format where finalists had just 60 seconds to convince judges.
That intensity inspired something bigger: a feature-length film.
Instead of boardrooms and bullet points, the pitch became a cinematic experience, revealing the raw, beating heart of Malaysian entrepreneurship
The audience was invited behind closed doors; into mentorship sessions, investor debates and late-night doubts that rarely make it to press releases.
The film trended No.1 on iQIYI for three weeks, proving that business stories can touch hearts when told without filters
A Celebration of Founders
Alliance Bank’s Group CEO, Kellee Kam, sees the film as more than a cinematic experiment.
“When we launched the BizSmart Challenge over a decade ago, our vision was to support entrepreneurs not just through financing, but through exposure, access, and belief. This recognition is a celebration of the dreamers and doers shaping Malaysia’s future,” he said
It’s a reminder that ideas need more than capital.
They need champions, cheerleaders, and platforms where ordinary Malaysians can see themselves in the entrepreneurs who dare.
CEO Sandeep Joseph summed it up, “We wanted to slow people down with something real — raw moments, unscripted emotion, and powerful stories. This film proves that even a business pitch can move hearts.”
In a world chasing clicks and quick content, they went the other way.
They let the silence, the nerves and the laughter breathe.
Malaysia’s first feature-length SME pitch film is a reminder: business stories are people stories.
And when told with heart, they can inspire a generation to dream, build and keep climbing…. elevator pitch or not.
