DERRY — Pinkerton Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of two seasoned financial experts, Kristin Brown, CPA, of Derry, and Katie Lajewski, CPA, of Hooksett, to its Board of Trustees.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kristin and Katie to the Board of Trustees,” said Board President Dr. William Nevious. “Their extensive financial backgrounds are a testament to our commitment to fiscal responsibility, and their combined decades of experience in accounting operations and corporate governance will reinforce our strategic plan, ensuring long-term stability and success.”
Brown, a Pinkerton Academy 2001 aluma, joins the board as a Member at Large. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Finance and Logistics at PCI Pharma Services, she brings experience in global financial operations and logistics to the board.
She holds a master’s degree in accounting and will serve on the Board’s Finance and Advancement committees. She hopes to support the opportunities for growth that she, herself, received as a student.
“Pinkerton gave me so much and I want to return that to future generations,” she said. “I took my first accounting class at Pinkerton, and it has driven me through to being a CPA and my career here. I was a class officer and helped organize several events, and now I’m in charge of production planning and warehouse logistics. The skills I learned at Pinkerton have prepared me in so many ways and I am honored to be part of Pinkerton’s history and future.”
Lajewski is the Vice President, Corporate Controller of Peter and Gerry’s Organics. She has a proven track record of scaling financial departments during periods of rapid growth, notably serving as Director of Accounting & Assistant Controller at Planet Fitness.
During her tenure there, she helped manage the department as revenue grew from $200 million to $600 million. With master’s degrees in business and organizational leadership, she brings over 20 years of experience in financial management and corporate controllership.
A parent of a Pinkerton student, she will serve as a Member at Large on the Finance and Education committees. She looks forward to supporting Pinkerton’s goals with her unique background.
“Everyone wants to know the value of the education that their kids are getting,” Lajewski said. “With my background, I can help ensure that we’re delivering on our promises to students and creating every opportunity we can with our financial resources.”
