The Philippines is setting the benchmark for workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in Southeast Asia, according to the latest Hiring, Compensation & Benefits Report 2025 released by Jobstreet by SEEK.
The report revealed that 63 percent of companies in the Philippines have adopted DEI initiatives, leading the region ahead of Thailand at 58 percent, Indonesia at 56 percent, Singapore at 42 percent, and Malaysia at 40 percent.
The study noted that Filipino employers are also implementing a wide range of inclusive practices, showing a strong commitment to fostering equitable workplaces.
Among the key measures adopted by Philippine companies are anti-discrimination and harassment policies, the formation of employee resource groups, unconscious bias training, regular DEI assessments, and mentorship programs for underrepresented groups.
Filipino firms are also advancing fair hiring practices, with over half setting clear DEI goals, 47 percent adopting blind resume screening to eliminate bias, and 77 percent regularly updating job descriptions to ensure fairness and inclusivity.
The report attributes the Philippines’ regional leadership in DEI to both cultural openness and supportive government policies.
National legislation, such as the Anti-Age Discrimination Act, continues to reinforce inclusive workplace standards.
Jobstreet by SEEK has also taken an active role in promoting DEI when it partnered with the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce for the “Pride in Careers” campaign in 2024, offering free and discounted job postings to LGBTQ+-inclusive companies.
This year, the platform launched a partnership with the Filipina CEO Circle to bolster women’s leadership and implemented its Fair Hiring Program to protect workers from exploitation.
