Peter J Buckley is professor of international business and director of the centre for international business at the University of Leeds. CIBUL was rated as the top international business research group in the world based on publications in leading journals (International Business Review) in 2006.
Prof Buckley holds a BA in social sciences (economics) from the University of York, an MA in development economics from the University of East Anglia and a PhD from the University of Lancaster. Prof Buckley’s research interests include the theory of the multinational enterprise; methods of foreign market entry and development; the management of co-operative strategies; theoretical and empirical work on joint ventures and alliances (including specific projects on UK international alliances); knowledge management in multinational firms; transfer pricing in multinational firms; economic integration and the strategy of multinational firms; international takeovers (including cultural aspects of post-merger integration, the impact of globalisation and government policies on multinationals. Specific areas of interest include China, India, the EU and the North American Free Trade Agreement.
