A man has watched in horror as his new Audi plunged 10m to the ground from a faulty car stacker in his apartment building.
Perth resident Danny Nassiri was about to leave for work and was waiting for his car to arrive when the shocking incident happened in front of him about 7.30am in late September.
Footage from the incident inside the Burswood apartment complex shows the car drop and nose dive causing it to fall back on its rear and crumple.
Mr Nassiri told 7News he found it shocking that people could still park in car stackers when these incidents were occurring.
“Watching that car fall down with that impact, with that sound, was terrifying,” he said.
“I find it shocking that people are still parking in these and incidents are still happening, and I feel it’s going to take someone to be seriously hurt in one of these for people to put a stop to them.”
A letter from the strata insurance company obtained by 7News indicated a faulty sensor caused the platform to descend incorrectly.
He still had not received any compensation for the incident that occurred seven weeks ago.
