The year 2025 is a monumental time for fans of the Persona franchise. A little over one year ago – Feb. 2, 2024, to be precise – Atlus released its highly anticipated remake of Persona 3. The original Persona 3, released in 2006, redefined the role-playing genre with its supernatural mystery surrounding “Shadows” and the “Dark Hour,” which unfolded over a single school year for the “Protagonist.” The ticking-clock format, exploration of high school life and stylistic presentation made Persona 3 an unforgettable experience. It not only paved the way for future Atlus RPGs, such as Persona 4 or Metaphor: ReFantazio, but it also inspired recent Western titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Persona 3 Reload stayed true to everything that made the original release memorable, while updating its already-striking presentation and gameplay mechanics for modern-day gamers. HYTE, the prestigious PC accessory maker, has collaborated with Atlus to pay tribute to its influential franchise once again. HYTE’s Persona 3 Reload collection includes a diverse array of highly sought-after collectibles, catering to both longtime fans and casual players alike. However, the star of the show is easily the Persona 3 Reload Y70 PC case, available for purchase on the official HYTE website.

HYTE Celebrates Persona 3 Reloads 1st Anniversary With a New PC Case

During the original Persona 3 promotion, HYTE offered a specialized PC case based on its Y60 model. The case featured beautiful portraits of the game’s main cast, displayed prominently throughout its three-piece, panoramic, tempered-glass design. The Y60 not only displayed the game’s stunning anime-like artwork, but it also showcased the wonderful machinery of one’s PC build, such as the three pre-installed 120mm fans. Now, for the 2025 promotion, HYTE has designed a new Persona 3 case based on its latest (and possibly most excellent) model: the Y70.

Before digging too deep into the details, the look and feel of the Persona 3 Reload Y70 deserves some recognition. Even at a mere glance, the PC case is a thing of beauty. The three-piece panoramic tempered glass features three distinct visuals from Persona 3 Reload, derived from the game’s original character artist, Shigenori Soejima, and Azusa Shimada, the main character designer for the remake. When compared to the Y60 case with its lovely headshots, the visuals for the Persona 3 Reload Y70 easily take the cake in terms of excitement and wonder.
The New HYTE x Persona 3 Reload Collection Emphasizes Gaming in Style
HYTE’s Persona 3 Reload Case Is as Sleek as the Game Itself
The first thing that will draw the viewer’s attention to the Y70 is the main ensemble piece. The no-name, blue-haired protagonist is pictured alongside his fellow members of the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.) — all of whom posed dynamically in an eye-catching arrangement. Of course, the leading hero is the center of attention, but characters like Yukari Takeba and Aigis are pleasantly positioned right beside him.
The center glass teases the final striking visual with its calming green-tinted structures and full moon, leading one’s eye to Chidori Yoshino. Chidori is positioned at the top, while two male figures, depicted in dramatic reds, are at the bottom. These intimidating male characters are none other than Takaya Sakaki and Jin Shirato. All three aforementioned characters are from Strega, a tight-knit group of artificial Persona users.

It’s not just the artwork that’s dazzling. The structure of the Y70 is big and bold, but shockingly not too heavy for the arms. While it’s not exactly light as a feather, the Y70 can be easily lifted and moved around the house by the average Joe looking for the perfect spot. In comparison to the flashy (and extremely heavy) Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End pre-built PC by Starforge Systems, HYTE’s Persona 3 Reload Y70 PC case is like a pillow.

The panoramic view of the Y70 also provides a marvelous view of one’s PC components, almost like looking at a glamorous fish in an aquarium. Additionally, the Persona 3 Reload Y70 by HYTE was packaged safely and securely for the review. No dents or scratches caused by poor shipping were found here. The case itself also feels incredibly well-made. A sigh of relief for anyone who feared a rare item such as this would be made with cheap materials.

Overall, the design of the Persona 3 Reload Y70 case is a faithful rendition of the franchise’s sleek presentation, while also honoring the moody atmosphere of the story. At the back of the case is a tiny green clock positioned at the top right, reminding fans of the daunting timeline associated with the story and the series’ depiction of fleeting youth. While some reviewers might find high school life annoying to relive over and over again, Persona consistently finds new and engaging aspects to explore as modern life continues to evolve, for better and for worse.

The Y70 Case Provides Plenty of Space and Airflow for PC Builders

Of course, an attractive design can only go so far. The primary purpose of a PC case is to provide everything one needs to build the gaming hardware of their dreams. In this regard, the Persona 3 Reload Y70 case is mostly a success.
As described by HYTE, the “Y70 is an upgraded dual chamber ATX mid-tower modern aesthetic case that delivers next-gen gaming experiences with massive four slot vertical graphics and unlocks maximum performance via ginormous cooling capacity. All while celebrating your favorite hardware by showing off your PC the way it was meant to be seen.” The four key selling points of the glamorous PC case are the “massive 4-slot vertical graphics, the included luxury PCIE 4.0 riser cable, the ginormous cooling capacity, and the unified modern aesthetic.”

All the Y70’s selling points are successfully built on the spacious design of the PC case. Graphic cards of any shape and size can be easily accommodated in the Y70, with ample space available for improved airflow. Additionally, the cold floor cooling at the bottom of the case can accommodate 120mm or a pair of 140mm fans, with a maximum thickness of 32mm. The wide range of fans will fire airflow straight to the GPU. Also helpful is the inclusion of the PCIE 4.0 riser cable (4.0 x 16), which allows a builder to mount their GPU outside their motherboard in a vertical position with ease. It also stylistically fits the wicked design of Persona 3.
HYTE x Persona 3 Reload’s Star Product Takes a Critical Hit
A Missing Key Feature Stops the Y70 From Reaching Perfection
The large size of the Persona 3 Reload Y70 case isn’t just a matter of establishing dominance. It’s to provide flexibility and ease in building a custom PC. At the back of the Y70 case are various open slots designed to hold numerous cables and components, ensuring that one never has to struggle with tangled cords or lose structure during construction. Also on the back are two screwed storage slots for the 3.5 drive bays. Newcomers or longtime builders who might be hesitant about ripping up their pricey new case will be relieved to hear that the Persona 3 Y70 is easy to open from the top. Furthermore, the Persona 3 Reload Y70 is designed to accommodate a total of 10 fans.
Now, regarding fans, this is where the anime-themed Y70 case starts to disappoint. While it’s impressive that 10 fans can be stored inside the case, the case itself doesn’t come with any pre-installed fans. While this is the norm with typical Y70 cases, the standard Y60 did come with three pre-installed Flow FE12 fans. It’s a disappointing turn of events, considering the standard Y60 — while smaller in design — comes with more at a retail price of $199.99 than the average Y70 priced at $239.99. Even in comparison with the Persona 3 models, the Y60 Persona case comes with three fans at $229.99, while the Y70 Persona 3 Reload case, priced at $289.99, doesn’t.

For those who prefer to pick the parts themselves based on price range and brand, the lack of pre-installed fans in the Persona 3 Reload Y70 case might not be a dealbreaker. However, for those building their PC for the first time or seeking any advantage they can get, it may be disappointing to hear that such a once-in-a-lifetime case is technically inferior to the older, standard edition.
The Y70 Case Collaboration is a Success in the Long Run
HYTE’s Persona 3 Reload Y70 Anniversary Case Remains a Must-Have for Fans
Despite the lack of additional but necessary components, the Persona 3 Reload Y70 case remains a worthwhile buy. Its sleek design perfectly complements the game it’s based on, while serving as an adequate vessel for gaming, a key feature that a good PC case needs to fulfill. Newcomers and hungry PC builders will appreciate the attractive and spacious design. Additionally, the Persona 3 Reload Y70 PC case is one of many great items being sold by HYTE in honor of the game’s first anniversary. Persona 3 Reload key caps, desk mats based on the Protagonist and Aigis, as well as a beautiful wall scroll, are all on sale for a limited time.
Simply put, the Persona 3 Reload Y70 case is a must-have for longtime Persona fans and PC aficionados. With the remake of Persona 4 on the way, one can’t help but wonder what HYTE will have in store for Atlus fans in the future, but at least anime RPG fans have plenty to enjoy until then.
HYTE’s Persona 3 Reload collection is now available for purchase online at HYTE.
