
TOLEDO, Ohio — A person was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound after an incident at Glass City Academy in downtown Toledo Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for Toledo Fire and Rescue told WTOL 11.
It is currently unknown at this time what their condition is or if they were a student at the academy at Monroe and 10th streets. Students at the academy told WTOL 11 they heard gunshots shortly after 3 p.m.
It is also unknown if police have any suspects or have taken anyone into custody.
WTOL 11 has a crew on scene and we’re working to learn more.
WTOL 11 reached out to Glass City Academy district office, which said it did not have any information.
WTOL 11 also reached out for a statement from Toledo City Council President Vanice Williams, who represents the district the academy is in. The chief of staff for council said they do not have any information at this time and Williams “doesn’t comment on shootings involving children.”
