Heavy rainfall across Perth has wreaked havoc as floodwaters trapped people inside their cars and inundated houses.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services are in the process of rescuing two people who were trapped inside their cars after becoming stuck in floodwaters at a railway underpass in Claremont.
Two drivers trying to pass through the Shenton Road underpass quickly became stuck just after 10.30am.
A DFES spokesperson said a woman has been successfully retrieved from her car and fireys are currently working on freeing another person in the other car.
It is understood neither are injured.
Further south in Mandurah, DFES is responding after three homes on Beam Road were inundated with water.
Perth was lashed with rain through Saturday morning as a cold front passes through the south-western part of WA.
The Bureau of Meteorology said a second, stronger cold front is due on Sunday, bringing with it damaging winds and thunderstorms.
The State Emergency Services team responded to 25 calls across WA last night.
