WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – On Monday, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office announced that a Pensacola man is heading to prison for 19 years. We are told 15 of those years are mandatory.
The sheriff’s office said Jonathan Nikos Butler was arrested in November 2024 by the VICE/Narcotics Unit. He was found in possession of nearly an ounce of Fentanyl and ten Xanax tablets.
Butler was charged with trafficking in fentanyl (14-28 grams) and possession of a controlled substance.
Law enforcement explained that just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be a potentially lethal dose for an average adult. One ounce equates to 14,000 potential deaths.
WCSO investigators say they continue to work hard to keep dangerous drugs and those who traffic them off our streets.
