Collingwood great Scott Pendlebury is suing his former manager in court, claiming his former manager took $2.6 million from his investment accounts.
Pendlebury is claiming in the Victorian Supreme Court that he uncovered his finances had allegedly been pilfered for almost a decade after the manager borrowed $300,000 but failed to pay it back, The Herald Sun reports.
In 2023 the manager asked Pendlebury if he could borrow the vast sum for one day but then told the premiership winner he was unable to pay him back.
The pair agreed for the sum to be paid back over six months to a year along with a staggering 50 per cent in interest.
Earlier this year Pendlebury discovered his manager had been taking money from his accounts for an extended period, totalling $2,6m, in amounts from $8,000 to $305,000.
