Future has announced it will be spotlighting “some of the best upcoming games” on the PC platform with SEGA, Devolver Digital, and Nightdive Studios as part of a new PC Gaming Show during the Tokyo Game Show. The “Tokyo Direct” will include “exclusive trailers, news from the showfloor, must-see developer interviews and world exclusive announcements,” according to the publisher as announced on Monday. Elle Osili Wood and Midas Whittaker will be hosting the event.
The details
We won’t have long to wait for this gaming announcement stream as it will air on September 28 at 9 am PT / 12 noon ET / 5 pm BST / and 1 am JST. It will be live-streamed on YouTube, Twitch, X (Twitter), Steam, Facebook and other platforms on that day.
“Fans of the PC Gaming Show will know that this is the first time we have ever been on the ground in Tokyo, and we can’t wait to bring viewers a sense of what Tokyo Game Show 2025 is really like and a glimpse into PC development in Japan,” said the Editorial Director of the PC Gaming Show Jake Tucker to PC Gamer.
Sega has plenty on its plate in the next few months. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be boosting its way to digital and physical store shelves on September 25 after a successful open beta. New racers could be announced during this Tokyo Direct. Nights, a beloved Sega character from yesteryear, has supposedly been leaked on a pre-order case (via Sonic City). Sega also has multiple other games in development, including a new Crazy Taxi, a Jet Set Radio follow-up, and a reimagining of the Golden Axe series.
The mobile party game Sonic Rumble is also due for a release date after getting delayed. Sega’s subsidiary publisher, Atlus, has the Persona 4 remake in the works, in addition to the launch of Persona 3 Reload on the Nintendo Switch 2 coming in October.
Devolver’s Upcoming Games
Devolver Digital also has a lot of games coming up in the near future. One of its biggest games, Cult of the Lamb, is getting an expansion in 2026 called Woolhaven, which could get more details from this PC Gaming Show stream. The otherworldly skating game Skate Story is due to launch in 2025 and could get a release date announcement as time is running up for those details. In the game, you’ll be skating to destroy demons and helping tortured souls in this radical journey through the Underworld.
Skate Story’s soundtrack is created by Blood Cultures and John Fio.
Human Fall Flat 2 is another big release that’s coming from Devolver Digital. Developed by No Brakes Games will deliver yet another puzzle platformer that will have refined controls, customisable characters, and a new physics engine. Fans may get more details on that game during this PC Gaming Show.
Lastly, Nightdive Studios will be presenting a game or two at this Tokyo Direct. It may be showing off its new remaster for Outlaws + Handful of Missions, an old school first person shooter by LucasArts. It also has SIN Reloaded on the docket.
