WAFL Grand Final Depth Chart 2025: Every South Fremantle and East Perth player ranked from 1-44Mitchell WoodcockThe West AustralianSun, 21 September 2025 2:00AMEmail Mitchell Woodcock

Every South Fremantle and East Perth player in the grand final ranked from 1-44 based on their ability to have an impact in Sunday’s big game, according to Mitchell Woodcock.

1. Matt Parker (SF)

The runner-up in this year’s Sandover Medal has been one of the stars of this season and is built for the big stage.

2. Hamish Brayshaw (EP)

Co-captain has put together a monumental finals series at the clearances and will be leading the way for the Royals again.

3. Trey Ruscoe (SF)

Has dominated the Royals this season with 14 goals in three matches including an equal career-best seven earlier this year.

4. Stan Wright (EP)

A powerful runner who will love the wide-open spaces of Optus Stadium and the beautiful conditions to have an impact.

5. Jake Florenca (SF)

Not as flashy as some of his teammates but does a power of work at the contest and is a great two-way midfielder.

6. Tom North (EP)

Has emerged as one of the league’s premier midfielders this year. In her second game back from a calf injury so will be better for the run.

7. Chad Pearson (SF)

The captain is the general down back for the Bulldogs but is also calm under pressure, rarely making a mistake or a poor decision.

8. Scott Jones (EP)

Set a record for the most hit-outs in a home-and-away season. Can run out an entire game without needing a rest which helps with rotations.

9. Tom Blechynden (SF)

An under-rated midfielder at the Bulldogs who will help the likes of Parker get out of the contest.

10. Isiah Winder (SF)

Has put together a fantastic two seasons at the Bulldogs as an x-factor midfielder who can break a game open.

11. Corey Watts (EP)

Could find himself on Bulldogs forward Ruscoe in what would be the biggest match-up of the game. Is a good intercept mark.

12. Angus Scott (EP)

One of the best wingman in the WAFL, will enjoy the space at Optus Stadium and will be needed to provide some spark if the Royals are a chance

13. Hamish Free (SF)

Had a fantastic second semifinal with two goals and 40 hit-outs in one of the finest performances of his 48-game career.

14. Ethan Hughes (SF)

An experienced backman who is coming off a premiership at Peel Thunder last year. Can be an attacking weapon from defence.

15. Brandon Donaldson (SF)

The small forward is having a career-best year with 35 goals in 15 matches. Knows how to do damage in a small amount of time.

16. Haiden Schloithe (SF)

It could be the Bulldogs’ last game after a stellar career. Schloithe has been playing predominantly forward but still can do damage in the midfield if unleashed.

17. Harrison Macreadie (EP)

Saved the Royals on several occasions as the spare man in defence in their preliminary final win over Claremont. Is an intercept marking king.

18. Matthew Ward (SF)

A wrecking ball like midfielder who will run in straight lines and apply plenty of pressure. Is also known to pop up for a goal.

19. Noah Strom (SF)

The reliable key defender is likely to head to Ben Middleton who looms as the Royals’ most dangerous tall forward.

20. Sam van Diemen (EP)

Returns from a hamstring injury, the pressure forward kicked three goals in last year’s losing grand final to Peel Thunder.

21. Jamaine Jones (SF)

Former West Coast half-back who can run riot on a familiar venue at Optus Stadium. Uses his left foot out of defence well.

22. Zac Strom (SF)

The veteran is the Bulldogs’ Mr Versatile. Can play anywhere on the ground which is remarkable for a 198cm player.

23. Christian Ameduri (EP)

The other co-captain needs to have a big role if the Royals are to get the win. Is as good a runner as any in this contest.

24. Zach Raykos (EP)

Expect the midfielder to spend some time on Parker but also has the capability to get into the game at the clearances.

25. Kye Willcocks (EP)

The backman loves to rebound out of defence with dash and dare, as well as to execute by foot at every chance.

26. Mitch Schofield (EP)

Didn’t play in last year’s grand final because of injury, but is a tough match-up as a medium-sized forward.

27. Toby Dodds (SF)

Was the surprise packet of the second semifinal in one of the best games of his 12-match career. Reads the ball well and loves to intercept.

28. Liam Tedesco (EP)

Powerful midfielder who can also go forward. Will be a barometer for this side if he can get going early.

29. Roan O’Hehir (SF)

A really smart runner who plays the important role as a high half-forward and wingman.

30. Glenn Byron (SF)

Another veteran Bulldog who just does his role week-in, week-out. Another good player showing their depth.

31. Tom Medhat (EP)

Will need to be an aerial threat to take away the intercept marking power of the Bulldogs’ defence. A goal or two would also help.

32. Ben Middleton (EP)

Showed his importance when he returned for the preliminary final. Needs to create a contest as much as possible forward of centre and hit the scoreboard.

33. Lewis Rayson (SF)

A smart used off half-back who leads the way for the Bulldogs when they get their running game going.

34. Jordyn Baker (EP)

Former West Coast rookie who can be creative in defence and also shut down a small forward for the Bulldogs.

35. Coby Burgiel (EP)

Another ex-Eagle, Burgiel needs to create a spark with his pace on a sunny day at Optus Stadium.

36. Chase Bourne (SF)

At his best Bourne can rack up the footy and kick goals, but was quiet in the second semifinal.

37. Shayne Hille (EP)

The Royals stalwart is going to need to use his experience and smarts to have an impact when the ball hits the deck inside forward 50.

38. Jaxon Artemis (SF)

A young wingman who has become a staple of the Bulldogs this year. Provides speed and skill but is inexperienced.

39. Jacob Msando (EP)

Struggled to stop Ruscoe in the second semifinal with five goals kicked on him. Will be interesting to see if he gets a second chance.

40. Riley Saunders (EP)

The defender struggled with a rib injury and didn’t finish the preliminary final but should be right to go.

41. Chase Bourne (SF)

Another player who likes to run and carry as well as apply pressure up forward.

42. Xavier Milner (EP)

A young backman who returned for the preliminary final. Could be a chance to end up on Ruscoe which would be a massive job.

43. Jacob Sax (SF)

An under-stated defender at the Bulldogs. Will likely get the Royals’ third tall forward.

44. James Sturrock (EP)

Was given a late reprieve in the preliminary final as a late inclusion and keeps his spot. Can play on the wing or at half-back.
