THE owner of a city fish and chip shop is having to sell after visa rule changes.
The owner of Bullring Chippy, listed as Lohia Muskan on Companies House, has listed the store on businessesforsale.com, citing visa rule changes as her reason for selling.
Miss Muskan is of Indian nationality.
Bullring Chippy, St Johns, has been a fish and chip shop for almost 25 years and has been ran by Miss Muskan for six months.
The listing reads: This has been a chippy for almost 25 years now. Due to Visa rule changes, I want to sell the business because I can’t self-sponsor myself now.
“It has been six months since I took over and it is running well.
“(It is) making almost £4,000 per week, while only opening four to five hours a day.
“It will not require a chef, anyone can learn.”
The property is described as a “very big shop with an office, toilet, store room, backyard and sitting area with tables and chairs.”
It currently trades from 4pm to 9.15pm from Monday to Wednesday, 4pm to 10.15pm on Thursday to Saturday, while not opening on Sundays.
The listing claims that the expansion potential could see the business rise to making £8,000 – £9,000 per week.
It claims a current annual turnover of between £100,000-£200,000, while the asking price is only available on request.
Bullring Chippy has a 3.5-star rating on JustEat and a 2.6-star rating on Tripadvisor.
Miss Muskan declined to speak to the Worcester News.
