
The opposition ANO Party will decide in September whether to call a special session of the lower house over the so-called bitcoin case, party leader Alena Schillerová said on CNN Prima News. She questioned whether such a meeting would be useful, accusing Justice Minister Eva Decroix (Civic Democratic Party) of obscuring the matter and protecting Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura. The case concerns a multibillion-crown bitcoin donation to the Justice Ministry from convicted drug dealer Tomáš Jiřikovský under former minister Pavel Blažek (Civic Democratic Party). Deputy Speaker Jan Skopeček (Civic Democratic Party) urged Mayors and Indepents to address concerns within the coalition rather than through the media. Police are still investigating.
