US President Donald Trump said Venezuela will use proceeds from a new oil deal to purchase only American-made products, positioning the United States as the country’s principal commercial partner.Trump made the announcement in a post on Truth Social, saying the purchases would include agricultural goods, medicines, medical devices and equipment aimed at improving Venezuela’s power and energy infrastructure. He described the move as beneficial for both countries. “I have just been informed that Venezuela is going to be purchasing ONLY American Made Products, with the money they receive from our new Oil Deal. These purchases will include, among other things, American Agricultural Products, and American Made Medicines, Medical Devices, and Equipment to improve Venezuela’s Electric Grid and Energy Facilities,” Trump wrote.He added that the arrangement marked a shift in Venezuela’s economic alignment. “In other words, Venezuela is committing to doing business with the United States of America as their principal partner – A wise choice, and a very good thing for the people of Venezuela, and the United States,” he said.
