From four months to Grade 12, Curro Mossel Bay offers families a considered, connected approach to education – where care, learning and outcomes are aligned.
MOSSEL BAY NEWS – Starting on 28 February, Curro Mossel Bay will launch an on-campus baby and wellness clinic – the first of its kind at a school in Mossel Bay.
For families, this means health checks, developmental assessments and expert guidance available where children already spend their day. No juggling appointments across town. Just practical, trusted support built into the school environment.
This focus on early, integrated care reflects Curro Mossel Bay’s broader philosophy: children thrive when their development is supported consistently, from the very beginning through to matric.
From as early as four months, children are welcomed into spaces designed specifically for their stage of development.
Small, age-divided classes (language-separated from age three), first aid trained teachers and structured daily routines create an environment that is calm, safe and purposeful. Parents stay closely connected through daily diaries and communication, ensuring transparency and continuity of care.
Programmes such as Baby Gym, Big Cook Little Cook, Blaze Buddies and Soft Block (pre-robotics) build early confidence, co-ordination and curiosity.
From Group 3, initiatives like Maths and Science Club and Buzz Kids introduce problem-solving and critical thinking long before formal academics take centre stage. Families can choose between half-day (08:00-14:00) and full-day (08:00-17:30) options, with early drop-off from 07:15.
Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included, and the school remains open during holidays.
Programmes such as Soft Block (pre-robotics) build early confidence, co-ordination and curiosity in preschool.
As children progress into primary and high school, this strong foundation translates into academic confidence. Curro Mossel Bay follows the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) assessment, which prioritises critical thinking, application and depth of understanding over rote learning. It is an approach recognised and valued by universities.
The outcomes are clear. Curro Mossel Bay has achieved a 100% matric pass rate for 11 consecutive years and was the only school in Mossel Bay to maintain a perfect pass rate in 2025. This consistency is the result of long-term thinking, continuity and a deep understanding of each learner’s journey.
Alongside academics, 21st-century skills are embedded at every level. Learners engage with digital platforms, e-books, robotics and STEAMD subjects, ensuring they are equipped for a future that is constantly evolving. English and Afrikaans are offered at every grade, class sizes range from 10 to 24 learners, and integrated sport begins from preschool.
Teacher assistants and regular parent communication further strengthen the learning environment.
What sets Curro Mossel Bay apart is continuity. Children grow within one community, supported by teachers who know them over many years.
Friendships are formed early and strengthened over time. Learning is not fragmented across campuses or phases, but experienced as one coherent journey.
