The Tigers have locked up cult hero Alex Twal with a contract extension on the eve of the 2026 pre-season in a huge boost for Benji Marshall and the club.
The 29-year-old lock has played 165 games for the Tigers since his debut in 2017 and looks set to finish his career a one club player after in king a two-year extension.
“The Wests Tigers have secured the services of Alex Twal for a further two seasons, with the experienced forward extending his stay at Concord until the end of the 2029 NRL season,” the club said in a statement.

The veteran of four Tests for his native Lebanon was excited to continue his proud history with the Tigers.
“This is a club that means so much me and my family, it’s where I made my debut and has given me the opportunity to play footy at the highest level,” Twal said.
“I’m really looking forward to what’s ahead for this group, you can see the way things are coming together, and I’m just focused on playing my role within that to help bring the Club success.
“I’m grateful to Benji, Shaun and the club for the faith they’ve shown in me and the opportunity to remain here at the Tigers.”

Tigers coach Marshall called the extension of one of the club’s favourite sons a huge boost for the club.
“This extension is a testament to the loyalty, hard work and dedication Alex has given our club,” Marshall said.
“He deserves the opportunity to be a one-club player, which is rare to find in this day and age.
