Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner took another swipe at the board following their defeat to Arsenal.
Summer signing Yeremy Pino made an unwise challenge on the right wing when he brought Bukayo Saka down and presented set-piece aficionados Arsenal with a free-kick inside the Palace half.
Former Crystal Palace man Eberechi Eze profited from the resulting free-kick, drifting away from Adam Wharton and volleying the second ball into the back of the Palace net.
Needless fouls and shirt pulls have been a recurring issue for Pino since his £26 million Deadline Day move to Palace.
Glasner acknowledges that Pino needs to cut out the unnecessary challenges, but notes that the 23-year-old is still in the process of adjusting to the Premier League because he did not have a pre-season with Palace.
“It was a silly foul,” said Glasner. “We asked him to double up against Saka, he thought he would get the ball in this situation, but he was a little bit too late.
“Everyone has to adjust to the Premier League, especially when you come from Spain, where it is more technical and faster. We knew this.
“It doesn’t make it easier when players arrive on Deadline Day and we have such a tight schedule so you have to learn through the games.
“He will learn, like all the others did. We are Crystal Palace, we should never forget this.”
