Obi Cubana receives appointment as City Boy Movement’s South-East director during strategic forum led by Seyi Tinubu.
Nigerian entrepreneur and social influencer Obi Cubana has been appointed the South-East Regional Director of the City Boy Movement (CBM), a youth focused political platform aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with the presentation of his official letter carried out by Seyi Tinubu.
The appointment, confirmed during a CBM strategic forum and captured in a video circulating on social media, took place last week where Seyi Tinubu, patron of the movement and son of President Bola Tinubu, presented Cubana with the letter in the presence of key stakeholders and movement leaders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Seyi Tinubu acknowledged Cubana’s influence among young Nigerians and his support for the current administration.
“I want to first of all thank you for support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to youths and young people in Nigeria, especially in the Southern region,” he said.
He formally announced the role, adding, “On behalf of the City Boy Movement, we want to present you your appointment letter as the regional director of the South East for City Boy and on behalf of the Coty Boy Movement we say congratulations.”
Seyi further reaffirmed the organisation’s focus on collaboration, leadership development and national unity as tools for driving the objectives of President Tinubu’s administration through youth engagement and grassroots mobilisation.
The City Boy Movement was established in 2022 as a youth-driven support structure for President Bola Tinubu’s election campaign and has since evolved into a nationwide platform aimed at mobilising, educating and empowering young Nigerians and women around government policies and reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to the movement, CBM works to create awareness of government achievements, deepen policy understanding and build a strong grassroots coalition capable of sustaining democratic continuity and national development across Nigeria’s 774 local governments.
The appointment event was attended by several CBM officials and business leaders, including Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Director-General of the City Boy Movement; Favour Abayomi, the National Coordinator; and Stanley Uzochukwu, Chairman of Stanel Group.
Following President Tinubu’s victory, the movement expanded its structure by appointing state directors and local coordinators to help explain major policy shifts such as fuel subsidy removal and broader economic reforms to Nigerians at the community level.
With Obi Cubana’s emergence as South-East Director, CBM signals a renewed push to strengthen its grassroots presence in the region, leveraging Cubana’s reach among youths and entrepreneurs to support civic engagement, policy communication and national development objectives tied to the Renewed Hope vision.
