The participants at the two- day event were drawn from various women groups , farmer organisations, cooperative societies and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector selected across the 21 local governments.
They were trained on how to use their farming activities to produce sellable items that will enhance their economic condition and have access to loans and grants from financial institutions to boost their businesses.
Speaking at the event, the managing director, Nuru Nigeria, Mrs. Amy Gaman, expressed serious concern on the slow progress made in the last 30 years since the Beijing declaration.
She said millions of women are still facing barriers to the rights, opportunities and safety which call for collective action and renewed commitments to building a future where every woman and girls have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
She called on women to continue to improve themselves and support government policies and programmes that ensure gender equity in addition to challenging societal norms that hinder their progress.
