Taipei, Jan. 8 (CNA) The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) has led 57 Taiwanese startups and 83 suppliers to attend the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas and meet potential investors and clients, the council said Wednesday.

In a statement, the NSTC said with assistance from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the council’s Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) hosted a pavilion at the CES with a theme of “Daily Taiwan,” where these Taiwanese startups and suppliers demonstrated the country’s artificial intelligence development supported by the government’s policies.

At the four-day CES, which opened Tuesday (U.S. time), these Taiwanese participants showcased a wide range of AI applications used in daily life, such as smart living, digital healthcare and sustainability development, the NSTC said.

The TTA, initiated in 2018 by the NSTC, aims to build a flagship startup ecosystem in Taiwan and serves as a platform to connect technologies and talent with markets and capital.

The NSTC said these Taiwanese attendees are expected to use the CES as a channel to connect overseas markets, introduce more innovative technologies and lead to multinational cooperation.

Jannene Remondino, a senior supervisor of the CES, and Sudeepto Roy, vice president of U.S.-based smartphone IC designer Qualcomm Inc. attended the pavilion opening ceremony, while representatives of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Phoenix’s accelerator supplier Tesoro and Vancouver-based Mosaic Accelerator also attended the event to view Taiwan’s innovations, the NSTC said.

In addition, the NSTC said, Ann O’Brien, vice mayor of Phoenix, led investors and companies from her city to visit the pavilion and invite Taiwanese firms at the CES to negotiate for possible cooperation.

The TTA has also received invitations from representatives of Japan, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Israel and Italy for exchanges, the NSTC said.

According to the NSTC, four startups under the TTA cultivation efforts — DeCloak Intelligences Co., Epic Tech Taiwan, Hua Tec International Co. and Memorence AI — received the 2026 CES Innovation Awards in cybersecurity, sustainability & energy transition, digital health and enterprise tech categories, respectively.
