Nothing has officially announced the launch of its new budget smartphone, the Phone 3a Lite, set to debut on October 29. Positioned below the Phone 3a, the Lite model will serve as a more affordable entry point into the brand’s lineup. The company revealed the launch date through a teaser on X (formerly Twitter), featuring a short clip that appears to showcase the back of the device with a single blinking LED light, reminiscent of Nothing’s signature Glyph interface.
The Nothing Phone 3a Lite is expected to offer a simplified version of the brand’s signature Glyph lighting system, potentially featuring smaller LEDs instead of the large light strips seen on other models in the lineup. While this design tweak hasn’t been confirmed, Nothing’s teaser caption, “Light up the everyday”, hints that these subtle LED accents could be one of the phone’s key highlights. The company has confirmed that the Phone 3a Lite will launch globally on October 29 at 1 PM GMT (6:30 PM IST).

Reports suggest that the Phone 3a Lite was recently spotted on Geekbench, revealing a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, and it may share its base design with the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The device is rumored to carry the model number A001T, similar to CMF’s A001, and is expected to come in black and white color options with Nothing’s signature transparent back design.
Hardware leaks hint at a 6.77-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery, and a minimum 8GB + 128GB storage configuration. The smartphone is positioned to sit between Nothing’s mainline 3a series and its CMF lineup, with an expected starting price of around ₹20,000, making it a solid entry into the budget premium segment.
Interestingly, Nothing has also announced that it will begin pre-installing select third-party apps like Instagram on its non-flagship devices, signaling a shift from its earlier bloatware-free stance. The Phone 3a Lite may be among the first to include these apps. Additionally, the Nothing OS 4.0 beta introduces a new Lock Glimpse feature that shows dynamic wallpapers based on user preferences, though the company reassures users that the feature will be off by default and won’t share personal data.
