The National Orientation Agency has announced its committment to simplify the controversial tax law . The Jigawa state chapter of the agency in its New Year’s message on Friday, January 2, said it will adopt a people-centred communication strategy that could help citizens to better understand and equip themselves with the new tax law .
The message signed by Sarah Ogodo, NOA Jigawa’s Head of Media and Communication, congratulated Nigerians for the swift transition into the New Year. Ogodo said the Jigawa State Director of NOA, Tijjani Ahmad Ibrahim also commended citizens for sustaining peace and unity among each other throughout the past year.He said citizens despite the economic challenges experienced in the past year, largely attributed to ongoing reforms introduced by the Federal Government to reposition the nation’s socio-economic and political systems. She assured that Ibrahim also reassured Nigerians of the agency’s committment to amplifying public enlightenment on various government programmes, policies and activities to promote positive public engagement and deepen citizens’ understanding of their civic responsibilities and the role of government. “The Agency will continue to educate the public in clear and simple terms, especially on tax policies, so that citizens can understand their benefits and comply willingly,” Ogodo said. In addition, Ibrahim urged citizens to do their best to embrace the New Year with renewed hope and collective commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration at all levels to achieve its developmental vision.
