The firing of the incompetent Adam Wood has sparked life in the Maryland Republican Party
Maryland Republicans are fully aware that former MDGOP Executive Director and incompetent boob Adam Wood royally screwed their party through his self-dealing by prioritizing his own Senate campaign at the expense of his duties to the party.
But that incompetence and foolishness have been compounded by the rapid-fire success of his successor as Executive Director.
The hiring of Ashleigh Presnar as the new Maryland Republican Party Executive Director and the work she has done in her brief one-month tenure so far show a stark contrast to the lazy, lackadaisical, and incompetent tenure of Adam Wood.

Remember that on Adam Wood’s watch, the state party was sending out press releases three weeks after events happened and messaging on legislation that died in committee a month prior. So the thought that he would actually be proactive on candidate recruitment was a pipe dream.
But already, Presnar has launched a brand new website to recruit candidates and give them the tools they need to compete. It’s the kind of tool the necessity of which was obvious to political professionals but not to somebody like Adam Wood, who cared about no candidacy other than his own.
This is the tool that the Maryland GOP needed a year ago when candidate filing opened, but I guess Wood didn’t think that candidate recruitment was all that important at a time when Maryland Democrats were openly discussing competing in every seat across the state.
This again highlights the absolute failure of Wood in his Executive Director duties. At no point did he have the skills, experience, or talent necessary for somebody to succeed in that job. But when you combine that incompetence with that of Wood’s girlfriend Nicolee Ambrose, you get a cascading set of failures. In addition to the lack of skills Wood brought to the job, he combined that with Abmrose’s own incompetence, self-importance, self-centeredness, and arrogance, which has led her to believe that she is God’s gift to Republican politics, all while the rest of the world sees her for the roadblock she truly is. In that sense, Wood and Ambrose are made for each other.
Here’s hoping that Ms. Presnar continues to clean up the mess that Wood left for her and helps bring a robust, competitive general election season.
