After spending a significant amount of time trying to find a cohesive list of new whisky (and whiskey) releases from this month, I was frustrated that no such list seems to exist! There’s individual articles announcing new whiskies, or information about some whiskies released across certain time periods, but I had no luck finding something that really covers the month very thoroughly.
So I’ve decided to create one (or several, actually).
At the end of every month, I’ll be collating to the best of my ability lists of new whiskies first released across the previous 30 days that I’ll divide into three articles – USA/Canada, Scotland/Ireland, and Japan/Rest of World, providing some basic information about each bottle.
A few disclaimers. I’ve found information on the below whiskies from a combination of sources, including emails and press releases sent to me, social media posts, ChatGPT searches, and good old fashioned Googling.
Notably and perhaps frustratingly, I am also leaving out all single cask releases as it’s almost impossible keep track of this, there’s just too many! Unfortunately, this means certain significant releases may not get featured, but I’ll argue in my defence that one of the joys of enjoying single cask whisky is the hunt to find something unique and special.

The first age-statement bourbon from Angel’s Envy, matured for ten years and finished in port wine barrels, this limited release of 24,480 bottles showcases the brand’s hallmark finishing with rich inner layers of apricot, crème brûlée and rum-raisin cake.
A limited edition four year old Kentucky straight Bourbon featuring a high-rye mash bill honors the 1985 Chicago Bears championship season.
The BTAC is to American whiskey what the Diageo Special Releases is to Scotch. The 2025 edition celebrates the collection’s 25th anniversary and introduces a sixth expression for the first time since 2006: the new E.H. Taylor Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon (15 years old, 50% ABV). The full lineup also features other blockbuster bourbons and ryes: A George T. Stagg straight Bourbon (15 years old, at an eye watering 71.2% ABV), a wheated William Larue Weller straight Bourbon (14 yrs old at 64.5% ABV), an Eagle Rare straight Bourbon (17 years old at 50.5% ABV), an 18 year old Sazerac straight rye (45% ABV), and a Thomas H. Handy Sazerac straight rye (6 years old, 64.9% ABV).
This year’s edition blends bourbons aged 13-19 years across recipe types and is bottled non-chill-filtered at barrel proof to highlight its rich apricot and spiced-oak character.
Michigan-based Granor Farm uses certified organic Hazlett rye grown on-site, and the resulting whiskey aged over four years in Michigan-made new white-oak barrels. A lovely example of farm-to-barrel whiskey.
Also from Granor Farm, this bourbon is crafted from heirloom grains (Wapsie Valley, Bloody Butcher corn, Blue Corn, Soft Red Winter Wheat and Violetta barley) and is matured for four years in Michigan white-oak.
The first American Single Malt whisky from California-based Hinterhaus Distilling is a celebration of the distillery’s fifth anniversary. The new release is finished in a California port cask but is only available at the distillery’s bottle shop.
Known for its floating rickhouses, Ingham Distillery’s fifth batch of its annual Flagship Bourbon release blends together eight high-rye Bourbon barrels featuring a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley.
With a proof of 116.5, it is a blend of only eight high-rye bourbon barrels with a mashbill of 36% Rye, 60% Corn, and 4% Malted Barley.
The stated goal of this release is to reimagine a Colonial-era Maryland-style rye mash bill. The result is a blend of 8 to 25-year-old whiskeys combining together together Indiana rye finished in apple-brandy barrels, a Canadian corn whiskey re-barrelled in new American oak, and a Virginia single malt.
The eighth annual release of this series from Brown Forman, this 17 year old single barrel Bourbon has released 5,000 bottles and has been described by Brown-Forman Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris as a ‘true masterpiece’.
This is the oldest expression ever produced at the James B. Beam Distilling Co distillery, and the oldest Knob Creek whiskey ever released.
This limited-edition bourbon from Russell’s Reserve (which is actually produced at Wild Turkey) is drawn exclusively from barrels on the fifth floor of their Camp Nelson E rickhouse and marks the highest-proof release in the series to date.
This is the first expression in the new “Hidden Stash” collection from the Iowa-based Templeton distillery. This 13-year-old rye whiskey boasts a 95% rye, 5% malted barley mash bill so it’s sure to be a spicy bruiser.
This is the first age statement whiskey from Westland’s Garryana oak series. This release is particularly poignant as these are the few bottles left after many were stolen from the distillery and celebrate 10 years of experimentation with Garryana oak.
This is the highest ABV release to ever be bottled by Woodford. This particular limited edition bottle is essentially the Woodford Reserve Rye on steroids. The same mashbill was used but it was all simply bottled at the collective strength of the barrels.
This Canadian whisky from J.P. Wiser’s is sourced and matured for 27 years and finished exclusively in Japanese mizunara-oak casks, with only 1,000 bottles available.
Although the company Proof & Wood is American, this expression is distilled in Alberta (Canada) from a mashbill of 91% rye / 9% corn, drawn from 14 barrels containing whiskey matured between 22 and 24 years.
