Simplified Document Process
Under the new rules, the documents required for a passport have been digitized. There will no longer be a need to submit a large number of physical documents. Aadhaar cards and other government identity cards will be given more importance, simplifying the application process. However, officials have clarified that if incorrect or incomplete documents are uploaded, the application may be rejected. Therefore, caution is essential when uploading documents.

Significant Improvement in Police Verification
Previously, police verification used to take a considerable amount of time. Now, with the help of new technology, this process will be largely conducted online. In many cases, the police verification will be completed within a few days. In some places, the passport will be issued first, and the police verification will be done later. This will save people time and reduce waiting periods.
Completely Online Application Facility
The government has also updated the passport website. Now, anyone can apply online, upload documents, and book an appointment without the help of an agent. Applicants will receive real-time notifications about their application status via mobile or email.

Children’s Passport Rules Simplified
Parental consent is required for passports for minors. The new rules have made this process even easier. Now, documents such as digital birth certificates and school IDs will also be accepted. This will allow children’s passports to be processed more quickly. In addition, the government is planning to open new passport centers in smaller cities and rural areas so that people don’t have to travel long distances.
