HAWAI, 1 Aug: Anjaw Deputy Commissioner Millo Kojin stressed the need for improving academic performance, ensuring regular provision of cooked midday meals, and maintaining consistent attendance of both students and teachers in schools.
Chairing a district-level meeting of School Management Committees (SMC) here on Friday, Kojin called upon them to work with sincerity and dedication for the betterment of schools and holistic development of students.
To prevent land encroachment and streamline land documentation, the deputy commissioner directed the SMCs to prepare sketch maps of their respective school campuses, and submit them to his office.
“These maps will be instrumental in the issuance of land possession certificates, thereby securing the long-term interests of the schools,” the DC said. He urged all SMC chairpersons to conduct regular meetings at their respective schools to review progress and identify areas needing improvement.
In a notable step to promote and preserve indigenous languages, Kojin distributed 1,000 Mishmi and 600 Meyor third language books to various schools. These books are intended to be incorporated into the school curriculum as third language subjects.
Anjaw DDSE Toriq Nomuk highlighted the vital role the SMCs play in school governance. He urged the committees to remain actively involved in implementing government policies and educational reforms at the grassroots level.
The DDSE also emphasized the importance of opening bank accounts for students to ensure that benefits of various government schemes are transferred directly and efficiently to them.
During the interactive session, all the SMC chairpersons and block resource coordinators raised various concerns related to school management and educational delivery. (DIPRO)
