ROBESON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Robeson County Detention Center officer has been arrested along with seven others in a drug investigation.
The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said that on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, staff at the detention center discovered illegal drugs in the possession of an inmate.
Investigators reportedly conducted multiple interviews and searches throughout the investigation, which uncovered a broader conspiracy involving individuals both inside and outside the detention center.
On Sept. 4, 2025, the following individuals were arrested and charged with felony conspiracy and continuing criminal enterprise and given a $450,000 secured bond
Authorities say that an investigation led to the locating and seizure of methamphetamine, suboxone strips, and weapons
“This extensive investigation by Robeson County Sheriff’s Detectives revealed that multiple inmates, along with friends, relatives, and even one of our own detention officers, conspired together to sell, deliver, and distribute drugs while operating what can only be described as a felony criminal enterprise,” said RCSO Sheriff Burnis Wilkins. “This type of behavior undermines the safety and security of our jail, betrays the public’s trust, and places the lives of both staff and inmates at risk. I want to commend the investigators and staff who worked tirelessly to uncover and dismantle this operation.”
Deputies say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely. Anyone with information should contact 910-671-3191.
