At its core, MYX is a permissionless exchange protocol that supports on-chain perpetual swaps for any token that has an existing automated market maker (AMM) market. The platform addresses long-standing barriers in decentralized derivatives, including high capital costs for liquidity providers (LPs), complex trading workflows, and chain-specific custody limitations.
Rather than building upon traditional order book or constant-product mechanisms, MYX introduces the Matching Pool Mechanism (MPM) — a shared collateral pool model. This system allows liquidity providers to deposit assets into a central pool, where long and short positions are internally matched. Funding transfers are netted at regular intervals, enabling the pool to maintain full collateralization even when open interest exceeds the total value locked.
With volume-tiered trading fees that can drop as low as 1 basis point per side during high utilization, MYX offers a cost-effective and capital-efficient trading environment.
MYX’s architecture is anchored by a dual-layer account system that separates fund custody from trade execution. While users retain ownership of assets through standard externally owned accounts (EOAs) or smart wallets, they can delegate trading authority to an ephemeral in-app key. This delegate-trader key signs orders on the user’s behalf, eliminating the friction of repeated wallet confirmations.
In addition, a relayer network covers gas fees, which are later netted in the settlement currency. This design makes trades feel instantaneous — even under high network congestion — and removes the need for chain-native gas tokens.
Further elevating the UX is chain-abstracted collateral support. MYX users can open positions using assets from over 20 supported chains, including Solana, without bridging or swapping. This frictionless model aligns with the growing trend of chain abstraction in DeFi, aiming to treat multiple blockchains as a unified liquidity layer.
