A This Morning guest opened up about her horror TikTok shop purchase after some shapewear left her hospitalised, scarred for like and unable to walk.
Molly Mae Watson appeared on Tuesday’s instalment of the ITV show to talk to Rylan Clark, 36, and Josie Gibson, 40, about the terrifying aftermath that happened at the end of July after buying cheap shapewear on the social media platform.
An intrigued Rylan asked: ‘So when you put them on, what happened?’
Molly Mae said: ‘I went to a baby shower, they were fine at first, I actually brought a dress to put on, I found them, I hadn’t worn them before, I tried them on briefly, when I originally bought them, which was a year ago.
‘I thought I don’t know what I’m going to wear, so I shoved them into a bag, went and bought the dress, put the dress on with the shorts underneath…
‘And then a few hours into the baby shower, I started to get a bit of a burning sensation, quite bad… but I was mid conversation, I thought maybe a wasp was in my dress, again, still didn’t do anything…

She told Rylan and Josie: ‘I showed them (health care professionals) and said “Yeah they are first and second degree burns”
‘Then I eventually I went to the toilet, obviously you pull them down, I didn’t realise that they had melted into me at this point, that was what the burning was.
‘The outside of the dress was fine, so it was the inside of these shorts, then I’ve pulled them down and they’ve ripped off not half of my bum cheek, but yeah…’
Later on in the conversation, Rylan asked what the hospital had told her when she arrived there.
‘What did the doctors say?’ Rylan asked her,.
Molly Mae said: ‘I went up to A&E, I showed the woman there and she said we need to get you to the urgent treatment center, which is a burns unit in the hospital in London.
‘I was kind of gaslighting myself and went “Is this actually what is happening?”
‘They were like “Yeah, they are burns.”
‘I showed them the pictures, I didn’t have the shorts with me but I showed them and said “Yeah they are first and second degree burns.”

‘But obviously it is in patches.’
She continued: ‘I said, “Could I be scared for life from this?” Not that I am always in a thong bikini or whatever… It’s not what you want is it?
‘They said yeah, there is a strong possibility and some of them have started to scar.’
The guest has had all her bandages taken off and some of them healing nicely, but some are still open scars.
Molly Mae confessed: ‘For the first two weeks I couldn’t go to work, I was in bed.’
She admitted that she tried to find the original seller that she had bought off, but had no luck finding them on Google.
Molly Mae asked TikTok for help and after chasing them, they give her a $10 coupon and refunded her for the shorts.
Journalist Alice Beer then read out a statement from TikTok which said: ‘We take the safety of our customers extremely seriously.
‘We were very concerned to learn about this incident.
‘This appears to be an isolated incident, the seller in question was removed from our platform last year for unrelated reasons.’
It comes after Sheridan Smith was unable to contain her emotions as she was interviewed on This Morning last week with the inspirational mother she portrays in the new ITV drama I Fought The Law.

The inspirational mum’s 15-year campaign to change the Double Jeopardy Law, which prevented her daughter’s killer, who was initially acquitted of the offence, from being retried.
