Right now is the perfect time to pick up that pricey, fancy skincare serum or moisturiser you’ve been dying to try out but haven’t becuase it’s more than half your weekly shop.
Forking out upwards of £40 or more on a small bottle of serum is a commitment for many, especially when what works for one person’s sensitive skin might not for another.
That’s when reading personal accounts of how a beauty product has worked for a certain person comes in handy. Recently, I have been lucky to try out a skin serum that’s been backed by beauty and skincare experts and users.
It’s the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex and unbelievably you can pick it up this Black Friday for as little as £15.
At Marks & Spencer, the 15ml travel size has 25% off, dropping the cute little bottle from £18 to £13.50. Why would you want a tiny one – well, like I said before shelling out a massive bit of cash on something that could make you break out is frankly, upsetting.
Fear not, M&S also have 25% off all the sizes, so if you’re already a fan of the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum the 75ml has a whopping £30 off, making it £87 and the 30ml has £17 off, taking the price down to £48.
This Morning’s resident skincare expert, Nadine Baggot has used the product “for decades” and it’s a staple in her beauty bag. Working to hydrate the skin and smooth the signs of aging. Nadine told Hello! previously that: “it kept my skin in great shape right through my thirties and forties. It smells heavenly (herbal active ingredients) and it is loaded with hyaluronic acid”.
At my age, 45, and during the past few years, my skin has inevitably changed and so too the effectiveness of my beauty regime. What once worked when I was 32 does not have the desired effect anymore. My face gets more patches of dry skin, I looked and felt tired and my facial skin health needed a boost.
So I’d heard a lot about this beauty must-buy, but it’s of the price point that makes the average shopper think twice – a 30ml bottle is £65, normally, on M&S. Aside from the high price you’re putting your faith in a face serum that your skin might not like, the texture might not suit etc.
I was lucky enough to first try it after getting a 7ml, travel bottle in an advent calendar. That size that allows you to test out whether it’s right for you or not. The 15ml travel size at £13.50 is ideal for this test run, too.
After using it my skin felt and looked fantastic after just two nights of (sparingly) rubbing it over my face!
It’s travel size, so I only expected it to last so long, but using a dot each night has proved beneficial, my skin feels tighter and looks brighter. It’s given me renewed confidence about my face, not just in the way it looks, but the way it reacts to products.
I’ve since bought the 30ml after I felt the tiny tester paid off. It’s an investment for sure, but for me and my sensitive, changing skin, it’s worth it.
As well as M&S’ whopping 25% off the brand, Estee Lauder site also is running a sale and the 30ml bottle is £48 down from £65 and with the extra 5% off they are offering, it takes it down to £46.31.
Over on LookFantastic there’s a set ideal for a Christmas gift and a serum-curious shopper, the £25.90 Estee Lauder Supreme + Starter set is worth £78.13.
Back to beauty queen Nadine Baggot, the expert also has featured a cheaper alternative to Estee Lauder on her morning slot on ITV, that is the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renew Midnight Serum – which is now on sale for half price at Boots for £17.50. Even better, it’s on Amazon for £12.89.
Whatever you end up choosing, I hope it works for you and the back and forth of wondering what skincare to use can finally end. Good luck!
