POONCH, Sept 24: The second day of the three-day Multi-Media Exhibition on Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs), being organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Poonch, at Government Degree College (GDC) Surankote, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, officials and the general public.

The programme was graced by D. Rani Mughal, principal of GDC Surankote, as the chief guest, while Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC J&K, Ladakh, presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mughal emphasized that the Government of India is committed to making India a developed nation by empowering its citizens through people-centric schemes.

Highlighting initiatives such as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Ujjwala, PMGKAY, Saubhagya Yojana, Har Ghar Jal, Swachh Bharat Mission, KCC, Stand Up India, Start Up India, Kaushal Vikas and Mudra Loans, she appreciated the CBC’s efforts in spreading awareness in both urban and rural areas.

Director CBC Ghulam Abbas provided a detailed overview of the Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP).

He explained how centrally sponsored schemes cover every stage of life, from prenatal care to old age and sickness.

The exhibition also featured expert inputs from various departments.

Imtiyaz Ahmed from the Forest Department enlightened the gathering on Mission LiFE, advocating for adopting sustainable practices to make India and the world pro-planet.

Sanjeev Saraf from the Agriculture Department detailed schemes like Kisan Credit Card, Soil Health Card, PM-Kisan Nidhi, HADP and the Kisan Sathi Portal.

Similarly, Sabha Manhas from ICDS highlighted initiatives under Poshan Abhiyaan, while Imtiyaz Kazmi, Chairperson of Sir Sayeed Memorial High School, spoke on the new criminal laws, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, aimed at making justice delivery more transparent and citizen-friendly.

Departmental stalls from ICDS, Health, Rural Development and Social Welfare departments continued to serve visitors by providing information and guidance.

Students from GBHSS Surankote and Sir Sayeed Memorial High School took part in various Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities, including quizzes and cultural programmes.

Anganwadi workers also actively participated and were awarded prizes.

The exhibition’s attractions, selfie corners, expert seminars, health check-ups for non-communicable diseases and cultural items, successfully blended learning with entertainment.

Organizers have urged the public to visit the exhibition, with free entry, to learn more about government schemes and avail their benefits.
