DECATUR (25News Now) – The Decatur Police Department responded to a report of an injured person at a residence in the 1900 block of E. Main Street just before 10 PM Wednesday.
Upon arrival, officers found a 38-year-old woman and her two children, ages 14 and 16.
All three were transported by ambulance to Decatur Memorial Hospital.
The mom later succumbed to her injuries.
Her children were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and have since been released from the hospital.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division processed the scene, conducted multiple interviews, and recovered video surveillance footage from the area.
This investigation remains active.
