She joins us this morning as the first Data Activist in Residence at the University of Virginia’s School of Data Science, and also a criminologist, criminal psychologist, and therapeutic jurisprudence specialist.
As the country looks toward the upcoming national budget and the ongoing push for digital transformation, she discusses how artificial intelligence can be used to strengthen crime prevention, governance, and how a dedicated Ministry of AI could position Trinidad and Tobago to enhance its technological capabilities and readiness for the future.
Dr. James is a mathematical economist and statistician, with a distinguished career that includes serving as Senior Policy Adviser to the United Nations Development Programme and to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. He’s also the founding Director of the public sector’s Policy Research and Development Institute.
He joins us now to weigh in on the upcoming national budget and to break down what the newly granted OFAC license could mean for Trinidad and Tobago.
