TEXARKANA, Ark. — A Miller County sheriff’s corrections deputy who was arrested last month following a search of the parking lot is scheduled to appear in court on March 17, according to a news release on Monday.
The sheriff’s office said DeAnthony Price was arrested on Feb. 21 and charged with furnishing prohibited articles. He was taken to the Lafayette’s Sheriff’s Office for holding. His bond is set at $75,000.
Price worked at the Miller County Detention Center. He’s been fired.
His arrest stemmed from a K-9 search of the detention center’s parking lot. A related investigation and subsequent interviews led to the arrest.
Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues, the sheriff’s office said.
