Bucharest, July 30, 2025 — The halls of the National Opera resonated with elegance, heritage, and diplomacy as the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco celebrated Throne Day, marking the anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The event gathered diplomats, political leaders, cultural figures, and media representatives in a powerful display of friendship and shared values.
Mihai Manea, CEO of Nine O’Clock, was among the distinguished guests, having accepted the gracious invitation extended by His Excellency Hassan Abouyoub, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Romania.
In a message of appreciation, Mihai Manea stated:
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to His Excellency, Mr. Hassan Abouyoub, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, for the generous invitation and warm hospitality. The evening was yet another reminder that diplomacy is not only about politics — it is equally about mutual respect, cultural connection, and shared values.”
In his address, Ambassador Hassan Abouyoub emphasized the symbolic and strategic significance of the celebration:
“This evening is not just a celebration of our monarchy — it is a celebration of friendship, tradition, and shared aspirations. Romania and Morocco are united by mutual respect and a common desire to build a future rooted in dialogue and cooperation.”
Throughout the evening, Mihai Manea shared moments of reflection and conversation with his close friends and fellow professionals, Maria Andrei and Paul Renaud, highlighting the event’s warm and welcoming atmosphere — one where professional relationships meet cultural appreciation.
The evening featured a remarkable performance by the Arab-Andalusian Orchestra of Fez, marking its first appearance in Romania. Founded in 1946, this is the oldest and most respected ensemble of its kind, safeguarding a musical tradition born during the golden age of Andalusia.
Applauded on some of the world’s most prestigious stages — from Paris to Beijing — the orchestra brought to Bucharest a vivid blend of Arab, Berber, Iberian, and Mediterranean influences, transforming the evening into a cultural journey.
Maestro Mohammed Briouel, a globally acclaimed conductor and recipient of the Kingdom of Morocco’s highest honors, has been instrumental in redefining Arab-Andalusian music for the 21st century. His leadership preserves its spirit while opening new paths for future generations.
The Throne Feast celebration once again underscored the unique power of cultural diplomacy to bring nations together. The Nine O’Clock editorial team commends the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco for organizing a refined and memorable evening — a true model of soft power and international cooperation in action.
