On October 28th, MetaMask tweeted that it has initiated the provision of support for multi-chain accounts. Furthermore, the asset loading speed for users has been enhanced by a factor of 30. MetaMask initially was a wallet that solely supported the Ethereum network. Gradually over time, support has been added incrementally for Ethereum Layer 2 solutions (such as Arbitrum, Optimism, zkSync, etc.) and other networks compatible with the EVM; through the Snap plugin system, the wallet is capable of connecting to non-EVM networks. Today, due to architectural advancements, MetaMask now natively supports non-EVM networks like the Solana network and intends to shortly support networks like Bitcoin.
